“Each year the diocese has a fundraiser for our seminarians called Night Of Vocation Awareness, or NOVA - this year on Friday Feb. 7 at the Capital Plaza. Someone has donated a table of ten, plus myself for this fun evening with a great meal. We need people to fill up this table. If you would like to help us out and join our delegation, please let me know.
     “We need to get our fundraising committee together to decide the dates for the Seafood Buffets, who will do what, or even if we will have them. I know we can count on many people to come and work and make these a success, but we need organizers and planners also. Please come to a meeting on Thursday, at 7 pm in the rectory.
     “Midwest March for Life will be next Saturday, Jan 25, beginning at the Governor’s Mansion at 10 am and marching to the Capitol for a rally. Please consider participating and, of course, pray for its success.”...Fr. Dave

Pro-Life Events – 1) Join the 2014 March for Life pilgrims on Monday, Jan. 20, to process from St. Peter Church (gather about 10:45 a.m.) to St. Joe’s Cathedral in a Eucharistic Procession for the Pro-Life Mass at noon.  Buses will shuttle you back to your car if you park at St. Peter's.  2) Holy Hour for Life at I.C. Church in Loose Creek 7:00 p.m. on Jan. 22.  3) Rosary for Life, on Friday, January 24, in the Capitol rotunda at noon.  4) Midwest March for Life Jan. 25, beginning at Governor’s Mansion in Jeff at 10:00 a.m.

Catholicism DVD Session – The Wednesday evening session of the Catholicism DVD series is starting up again on January 29 at 7:00 p.m. in MPH hall.  Everyone is welcome as we continue on this adventure toward deeper understanding and appreciation of our faith.

William H. (Bill) Simon Scholarship Fund - Awards scholarships to Catholic students who are in financial need for the purpose of attending an accredited college or university of the student’s choice.  The scholarship is renewable for $1,000 per semester.  Criteria: must be a registered Catholic, must complete scholarship application, must obtain letter of recommendation from school official and priest, and must demonstrate financial need.  Deadline is March 31.  Contact the parish office if interested.

Fr. Cedric Pisegna, C.P. is a Passionist priest residing in Houston, Texas. He was a Christian Service Volunteer at Chamois/Morrison in 1982 (under Fr. Fred Elskamp). His television program Live with Passion! now airs on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) Sunday mornings at 7 am (starting Jan. 26).  (Check local listings for stations.)
