“While I also find it hard to believe, but it is already time to be thinking about Lent! Ash Wednesday, Feb. 10, is only 2 ½ weeks away, and thus close enough to begin thinking about how we will spend this Lent, in this Holy Year of Mercy. Have we been using the Magnificat Holy Year Companion this year? Perhaps Lent will be a time to make better use of it. (There are still copies available in the back of church.) There will also be a special issue of The Word Among Us available for Lent. Are we thinking about using the Sacrament of Reconciliation to help us grow in holiness? We will be having communal Penance Services - so look for that. The deanery will be having a 24 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration at a central (to the county) parish - so look for that also. Plus we have our Fish Fry and Seafood Buffets for all to pitch in and make a great success. So no, it is not too early to begin to get ready.

“Thanks for all the prayers for mom. She is now at Select Specialty Hospital; 300 1st Capitol Dr.; St. Charles, MO 63301. Prayers are still appreciated.”…Fr. Dave
