Robert Kattelmann For the People

“I’m happy to see that everyone got right into the switched time/place for our Sunday Liturgies. With Mass on Saturday evening at MPH throughout the winter, I’ve heard for a couple of years now that it was rather dark out front, especially after Mass, and especially when the light wasn’t working (I think we have that fixed). Still I felt something should be done, and finally thought of adding a couple of light poles. So they are going in, and should make a big difference out front.
“It’s always good to see so many parishioners show up to help with our parish fundraisers/activities. Assumption had a great fall dinner, and MPH had a great crew selling pork burgers. Well done everyone.
“We were saddened to hear of the death of Pastor Rayla Hogue on Friday morning. Our prayers and condolences to her family and all the UCC members.”…Fr. Dave

Bailey’s Creek Cemetery Meeting – Sunday, Oct. l6, at 1:30 p.m. in MPH hall.  Possibly going over bylaws.

Catholic Stewardship Appeal - Thanking God for the many gifts he has given us, we are obliged to share what we have been blessed with. This is the time of year that we take the opportunity to “walk together” and share our gifts with other Catholics of the diocese by donating to the Catholic Stewardship Appeal. Sometimes it’s difficult to envision how one pledge can make a difference.  However, each gift—no matter what the amount—does make a difference. And it is a sign that we are part of something larger—the local Church known as the diocese of Jefferson City. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance as you consider your participation this year in this important annual event.
