“Thanks for the prayers for your priests while we were at our institute last week. The theme of our gathering was using modern technologies. They are a gift from God (if used properly) and so should be utilized to spread the gospel, and help people communicate. They suggested that each parish review its communication plan, and work on putting it into practice. Something we need to look at. When we talked about this at our high school PSR class, they thought the parish should have a Facebook page – so we set one up. Check it out and like us on Facebook – MostPureHeart.
“As you know, we recently did some remodeling on the women’s restroom in the hall. A special thanks to Stan Dudenhoeffer drywall for the donation of labor on the walls, and dropped ceiling. Vanity was done by Seig Woodworking, and the plumbing by Jim Keilholz. Good job. Cost of around $6,500 was covered by funds from a grant by the Schwartze Foundation for repairs and improvements.
“I thank you ahead of time for your generosity in supporting the Catholic Stewardship Appeal.”...Fr. Dave

Children’s Education Initiative – The enclosed bulletin insert contains info in regard to this very important initiative.    Please consider getting involved and lending your hand to help this initiative come to fruition.  If you are willing to be a petition circulator, please call Fr. Dave to volunteer.

World Mission Collection (Oct. 20) – Your prayers and generous gifts for the World Mission collection support the tireless work of so many priests, religious, and lay leaders around the world as they offer practical, emotional and spiritual care to communities, children and families in desperate need, bringing the light of Christ to the darkest of circumstances.  If you forgot your donation this weekend, please drop it in the collection basket next weekend.  Thank you.

Halloween Party at Most Pure Heart of Mary hall, October 30 at noon.  Both parishes invited and please ask your friends to come along.  Lunch will be chili at noon followed by Halloween candy as snack while we play bingo for household item prizes.  There is a Disaster Drill in Chamois on Oct. 30.  I have talked with Emergency Director, Andrea Rice.  She says our Halloween party will NOT interfere with the drill nor will the drill interfere with the party.  She says for us to drive and park just as we would on any other day.

Congratulations to Benjamin Brian Rost, son of Brian and Rebecca Rost, who received the sacrament of Baptism Sunday, October 13, at Assumption Church!

Catholic Stewardship Appeal - Recently you received a letter from Bishop Gaydos asking for your generous support of the CSA. The 2014 theme – “Stir into flame the gift of God” – encourages us to be faithful disciples.  Please give prayerful consideration to how you can respond, complete your pledge card and return it in the envelope provided. (Reverse side of Children’s Education Initiative insert lists CSA-funded ministries/services.)
