“Don’t forget that next weekend, we change locations for the weekend Masses for the winter. As you are putting the new schedule on your calendars and in your minds, why not just plan on arriving 20 minutes beforehand and join in praying the Rosary for the month of October. In this way we honor our Blessed Mother, give just a little extra toward keeping the Lord’s Day holy, and prepare ourselves to better participate in the Eucharist – a triple play!
“Next weekend Fr. George Kramer will be with us again, allowing me to be in St. Louis for my niece’s wedding. I’m sure you’ll make him welcome as always.
“The October issue of The Word Among Us is available at the back of both churches; please take one for your spiritual reading this month. We pay for those out of our Adult Ed budget, so it would be a shame to have to throw them away at the end of the month.
“Again we need a couple of Bell ringers to present the Christmas Concert on Dec. 13. Let me know if you would like to try out.”…Fr. Dave

This fall our Diocese will again involve itself in a common pastoral practice across the U.S. known as the “OCTOBER COUNT.” Each individual who attends the weekend Eucharist across our diocese during October will be counted in order to allow for better pastoral planning for the benefit of our parishes and our diocese. The month of October is selected since it has been statistically proven that it represents the best month for this project.
