**Note Changes in Weekday Mass Schedule – Mass for All Souls Day will be offered on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption.  There will be no Mass on Tuesday.

“This week (Monday) we Commemorate all the Faithful Departed (All Souls Day). It is a day set aside to remember and pray for all the Faithful Departed. It is an act of Christian charity to pray for the dead, knowing that our prayers assist those who are on the way to the Kingdom. This theme continues through the month until we celebrate the victory of Christ our King. So it is a good practice to remember your beloved dead in your prayers this month. We also have our Book of Remembrance for you to enter names of your family & friends who have died: candles can be lit for them, or even a Mass said. Eternal Rest grant unto them, O Lord.”…Fr. Dave

Catholic Stewardship Appeal (CSA) – If you have not already received a letter from Bishop Gaydos asking for your generous support of the CSA, you will be receiving it very soon.  The CSA theme is “Do not bury your talents, the gifts God has given you.” (Pope Francis, tweet April 26, 2013).  His words remind us that we receive God’s gifts gratefully, cultivate them & share them lovingly.  Please give prayerful consideration to how you can respond, complete your pledge & return it to Bishop Gaydos in the envelope provided.  The first CSA video on supported ministries is now available on the diocesan YouTube channel. It accompanies the story on the back page of this week’s issue of The Catholic Missourian.  Find the video by going to the home page, & clicking the YouTube button at the top right hand corner of the page.

Book of Remembrance – The Book of Remembrance for each parish is in the back of each respective church.  You may add the names of others who have died that you would like to remember during this special time in addition to the Mass intentions.
