**Thanksgiving Mass Schedule – Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church at 6:00 p.m. and on Thursday, Nov. 22, at Assumption Church at 8:00 a.m.

++Note Change in Weekday Mass Schedule – There will be no Mass on Friday for this coming week.

Thanksgiving is once again here. We celebrate the yearly holiday, but thanksgiving is the everyday attitude of Christians. We must always recognize what the Lord God has done for us – and give thanks. Even if it seems as if life is difficult, God created us, He was born for us, He died for us, He has given us of His Holy Spirit, and He awaits us in the bliss of His heavenly kingdom. Yes, we always know we have much to be thankful for. Let us truly give God thanks always. I pray that your and your families’ holiday celebrations will be graced with God’s blessings and joy.
In this holiday season we will be spending money, and buying gifts. Why not make use of the gift cards available that support our children at St. George School in Hermann. It costs you nothing! That is, a $20 gift card, for example, costs only $20. The merchants give a refund back to the school, and the school credits the parish toward our shared costs. Give them as gifts, or use them yourself. They are available for local and national stores. See Jamie Koenigsfeld after Mass at Assumption or give her a call at 294-7323.
I hope everyone is planning on joining us on Saturday morning Dec. 1, as we begin our season of Advent with a half day of recollection. Let’s all do something to make this Advent and Christmas seasons a special gift to Our Lord.
