“Today’s celebration of the dedication of the Lateran Basilica reminds us that we belong to a Church that is both local and universal. The universal Church is centered around the Pope in Rome and is worldwide, but also includes our own diocese, thus we took the time to pledge our support for the diocesan CSA. The local Church is our parish. Here we live and interact and live out our vocation as Christians. So it has a bit of a priority. We best support the universal Church with our donations, and while your monetary sacrifices are very important to your parish, even more important is your active participation in parish life. Thus we also asked for new volunteers for the many concrete needs and ministries of our parish. I am grateful if you responded, and encourage you to continue to pray about your involvement and return the form anytime at all.”…Fr. Dave

Question of the Week - What does it mean to you that you have a choice of whether to "build up" or "tear down" the Church? In what way do you have zeal for the Church?

Collection for Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) – This weekend we support our family and friends who have served this nation with distinction.  The collection for AMS will provide the Gospel, the sacraments, and other forms of spiritual support to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces wherever they serve, no matter the circumstances.  Please prayerfully consider a generous contribution to the first-ever national collection for the AMS.  If you forgot your donation this weekend, just drop in the collection basket next weekend.

CSA - We thank all those who have generously given to the annual CSA.  And, we ask those who have not sent in your pledge to please consider a gift to support training of our future priests; training for teachers, catechists & those who form our young adults in the faith; & providing help to those in need.  Each of us is called to respond in faith, knowing & trusting that God recognizes your willingness to live out the message of the Gospel.

Celebration of Faith and Culture!   Join Bishop Gaydos & parishioners from across the diocese & across the world on the Feast of Christ the King.  The celebration will include a multicultural Mass, followed by a potluck buffet with tasty international food & live entertainment.  This will be an opportunity to acknowledge & give thanks for the diversity of gifts & unity of faith that strengthens our Church.  It all begins at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral on Sunday, Nov. 23 (and should conclude by 6:30.)  Bring your family or friends!  The only cost is a covered dish to share.
