Advent is our time of preparation, through repentance, for the coming of the Lord. St. John the Baptist reminded us last week that repentance must be manifest in good works. We have many elderly and people living alone that are even more hesitant to get out due to the winter weather we are experiencing. Let’s not forget about them. How about a visit now and then if possible. Or even a phone call to let them know we are concerned about them, to say hello, or wish them a Christmas greeting. Even those who can’t get out can phone someone else. It just might make their day.
“This weekend is the community tours of homes and churches. Everyone is welcome to visit our churches and the rectory. In fact I would be happy to have you stop in anytime I’m home these holidays. Or I would be happy to visit your home for the blessing of the New Year.
“A special thanks to Tom and Sherry Starke, Dale and Lana Hackmann and Tammy Stone for the wonderful work they did on decorating the church again this year.”...Fr. Dave
