**Feast of the Immaculate Conception is on Monday, December 8. This is a holy day of obligation. Masses for this holy day are being offered on Monday (Dec. 8) – at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption and at 6:00 p.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary.
++Note – There will be no Mass on Tuesday for the coming week.
“This Holy Season of Advent is moving along. Already one week has gone by. How have we used this first week to prepare our hearts for Christ’s coming? Have we spent a little extra time with Him in prayer? Have we tried to do all for Him? Have we prepared a gift for our God, who was the one who ‘gifted’ the world with His Son? The time is short! Stay awake! Be alert! Our God is coming.
“I will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation with the PSR children this Wednesday evening as part of their class. Parents are welcome and encouraged to come with your children and set the example. We will have a penance service on Tuesday evening, Dec. 16, at 7 pm at MPH. Fr. Don Antweiler from Loose Creek will be with us that evening. I’ll be available at Assumption after Mass on these remaining Advent Sundays.
“If you’ve still put off your pledge to this year’s CSA, I urge you to do so as soon as possible. So far only 20 of Chamois’ 83 households (a mere 24.1%) have made a commitment. In Morrison 21 families of 51 households (41.2%) have made their pledge. Every one of us should consider this a part of our responsibility as members of the diocese and the Catholic Church and do whatever we can (it doesn’t have to be a lot) to support our church. Don’t put it off another week!”…Fr. Dave

Nursing Home Mass – A Mass will be offered for “Mabel Renkemeyer” on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 9:30 a.m. at Frene Valley Nursing Home in Hermann. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Potluck Lunch/Community Day/Bingo – Wed., Dec. 10, from 12:30-3:00 p.m. at Morrison Community Center. MWA provides meat, table service & drinks. Attendees asked to bring covered dish to share. Free. Please bring individually wrapped snack(s) for “After School At Risk Reading Students” at Chamois Osage R-1 School. If planning to attend, call Marlo Bockting 294-6613. Xmas Tour of Churches/Homes & Xmas Concert – NEXT Sunday, Dec. 14. Tour churches/homes noon-5:00 p.m. Xmas concert featuring handbell choir and others at 5:00 p.m. in Most Pure Heart of Mary Church.
