“I trust that everyone survived the winter storms this week. I join you in praying for an early spring.
“Here is a summary of my homily remarks about why I decided to join in the Profess, Proclaim and Celebrate Our Faith campaign. It was offered by Bishop Gaydos (who is also paying for it) who encouraged every parish to take advantage of it. While we are not in any financial crisis at the moment, and fully expect to be able to meet all our expenses again this year, the times are difficult for us as they are for you, and so a little reserve would be good. However, we do not ask for your generosity because we need to pay our bills, but because we all need to be generous. Almsgiving is part of a spiritual life, and promises many rewards. I want to use this opportunity for each of us to review our Stewardship of time, talent, and treasure to God, through the parish. Are we giving back to God as he asks of us - not only in treasure, but in time and talent also? We need you and everyone to be active and committed members of the parish, helping at liturgy, on committees or pitching in at our fundraisers, and to care for our buildings and grounds. This is an opportunity to reflect on what you can give back to your parish. Finally I want to reach out to those on our parish lists that we do not see too often, and remind them that they are also valued members of our parishes. I really do trust that you will do all you can, and for that we will truly be thankful.
“Seems as if the winter storm has delayed the delivery of the next letter, so if you haven’t received it this week, it should be there next week. Thanks for your patience and understanding.”...Fr. Dave
