“Lent is moving quickly along, this weekend is already ‘Laetare’ that is ‘Rejoicing’ Sunday. We rejoice at the nearness of the Holy Triduum of our Redemption. So I want to remind everyone that our Holy Triduum - our Holy Three Days – Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday are approaching on March 28, 29, and 30th!! These are the three most important days of our Liturgical year and our faith life. Every Catholic should make every effort to attend these services. Here, this is the one time when we have joint services between Assumption and Most Pure Heart. Just because Assumption will be hosting Holy Thursday and Good Friday (we rotate each year), they are the Triduum services for both parishes. Please don’t say that MPH isn’t having Holy Thursday or Good Friday services -  we are having them at Assumption Church! Please make the effort and come. It shouldn’t be difficult for MPH parishioners to make the trip to Morrison. If you don’t have transportation, please let me know. And the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday is also a joint service. I hope everyone from both parishes will be present to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord.
“This Thursday at 7 pm Fr. Phil Niekamp will be with us for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We are grateful for his willingness to come since the first was snowed out. Please use this opportunity to make use of this great sacrament of forgiveness. Fr. Ed Doyle will join me at Assumption for the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Friday evening March 22 from 6:30 to 7:30.
“The Night of Vocation Awareness dinner/auction is fast approaching also. I would really like to have some representatives from our parishes showing support for our seminarians and vocation office. If you are able or interested in going, please let me know this week.
“I was impressed and grateful for the cooperation and hard work shown both at Assumption’s fish fry and MPH’s seafood buffet. All who helped made both of these a great success. We really need these extra fundraisers, so all your effort is really appreciated. I trust we will have the continued support and workers for our coming seafood buffet.
“Congratulations to Assumption parish for being recognized in this week’s Catholic Missourian for reaching the highest percent of parish participation in this year’s CSA. Both parishes exceeded their goals, which is really great, but Assumption had 52% of parishioners give a little something to this year’s appeal. Your generosity has been noted. May God continue to bless us in every way.”...Fr. Dave
