“Holy Week has begun. This is our annual commemoration of Our Lord’s Passion and Death. This is indeed a holy week; we should strive with all our effort to make it so. Will we take time to be with the Lord this week? Will we watch one hour with him on Holy Thursday? Will we weep at the foot of the cross with our Blessed Mother on Good Friday? Will we wait in the night for the news of the Resurrection at the Easter Vigil? Will we make these days holy at home and at work? Christ suffered and died for us! What will we do for him?
“As you know, the diocese has the collection for infirm priests and religious included on Easter Sunday. You have a special envelope in your packet. This is an assessed collection. MPH needs to pay $1,078 and Assumption $812 - whatever the collection amount. So, of course, I encourage you to be as generous as you can to help us meet this expense.”...Fr. Dave

Religious Liberty Bill - On March 14, Judge Audrey Fleissig, a St. Louis Federal district court judge, struck down portions of MO law protecting the conscience rights of those objecting to paying for contraceptive coverage & abortion drugs in their health plans. MO Catholic Conference urges you to contact Attorney General Chris Koster (573-751-3321, email attorney.general@ago.mo.gov) & ask him to please appeal Judge Fleissig's order & tell him that her order overreaches and will effectively violate the religious liberty of MO citizens & employers more than the HHS mandate & that other federal courts have protected the conscience rights of employers and her order is inconsistent with those orders.
