Text Box: Lent - the season of repentance. I hope that we are taking this time seriously. I hope that we are seriously taking time for reflection and repentance. I hope we take the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation this holy season. I will be available after every Mass to celebrate this Sacrament with you, whenever you desire. However I am happy to say that Fr. Ed Doyle has agreed to come and celebrate a Reconciliation Service with us on Wednesday evening, March 24. Also, the Catholic Missourian lists dates that other parishes are holding their services. You can certainly avail yourselves of those opportunities if convenient for you.
“Evelyn and I here in the office are using the Google Calendar app as our master parish calendar, as we can both add to it and coordinate events. You, too, can access this calendar on our website: either MostPureHeart.org or AssumptionMorrison.org. and then go to ‘calendar’. Also the weekly bulletin and ministries schedules are there for your convenience.
“Next week, there is a special collection (and envelope in your packet) called the 3-in-one collection. It is really three important collections rolled into one. Peter’s Pence, which helps the Holy Father directly; the Holy Land collection to help Christians in the Holy Land and maintenance of Christian shrines there; and Catholic Relief Services which helps in emergencies such as the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chili. I urge you to be three times as generous.”...Fr. Dave

Lenten Reconciliation Services (at 7:00 p.m.) - March 9 in Linn, March 24 in Chamois, March 24 in Loose Creek, March 25 in Hermann, March 31 in Westphalia.
St. Mary’s Spring Dinner - Please pick up the envelope from the back of church with your name.  It contains the Spring Dinner worklist/raffle tickets.  It’s not too late to make a donation for meat - just put in an envelope marked “meat donation” and drop in the collection basket.  The Spring Dinner is on Sunday, March 21, serving fried chicken/pork sausage dinners 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.  Thank you.

Text Box: Heart of Mary Funfest - Attention St. Mary’s parishioners: the Heart of Mary Funfest will be Wednesday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m. The main attraction will be our special guest - Amanda - who will play her flute and encourage us to sing along. Please join us at our church hall.

Alternatives to Abortion Funding - The Chair of the Missouri House Budget Committee, State Representative Allen Icet, has proposed to retain full funding - 1.9 million dollars - for the Alternatives to Abortion (ATA) program. The issue of ATA funding is now before the House Budget Committee, which may move the budget bills to the full House of Representatives very quickly. For this reason, the MCC is asking Catholic citizens to contact their state representative (Rep. Tom Loehner, (573) 751-1344, email tom.loehner@house.mo.gov) with the message:  Please retain funding for the Alternatives to Abortion program. ATA is a small program with a big impact. Some 2500 women and their unborn children were served (and saved) last year. Surely, in a 23 billion dollar state budget, funding can be preserved for alternatives to abortion.

Lenten Quiet Hour - Bethel Salem Presbyterian women invite you to a Lenten Quiet Hour on Saturday, March 20, at 10:30 a.m.  Donations for the Haiti disaster of money or cloth diapers.  RSVP Marilyn Nolting 943-6372 or Karen Niewald 943-2236.  Details on poster in back of St. Mary’s Church.

St. Mary’s Cemetery Work Day - Your willing hands are needed!  Could you devote some time to help work in our cemetery?  A cemetery work day is scheduled for Saturday, March 27, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  Tools provided - willing hands needed.  For questions, call Clarence Keilholz 763-5568.

Operation Rice Bowl - Our participation in Catholic Relief Services’ Operation Rice Bowl unites us in prayer, fasting, and giving with the millions of people throughout the world who are oppressed by poverty, injustice, war, disease, and lack of education and other opportunities.
