Text Box: “This week I was at a diocesan meeting for future staffing of parishes. The Bishop assured us that he is committed to keeping every ‘vibrant’ parish open. We will simply in the next year, try to plan for the future and how parishes are staffed or organized. We here are already in a cooperative situation. We have two separate parishes, Assumption and MPH, and one shared pastor. However, there are some things we do as a joint parish – most importantly is celebrate the Easter Triduum – the holy Three Days. It’s not Assumption that is having Holy Thursday and Good Friday services; it is a joint celebration of both Assumption and MPH gathering at Assumption. The people of MPH are asked to make the sacrifice of driving the few extra miles to Morrison so that we can have one celebration at the proper time as called for. And the Easter Vigil – the high point of the whole liturgical year – will be a joint celebration of Assumption and MPH, though held at MPH. (Try to carpool, invite a neighbor along, or let me know if you need a ride.) So it’s not too soon to begin to plan for these holy days. I hope everyone is making these celebrations a priority and planning on participating. The Easter Vigil is the most important event in our Christian life each year. I can’t emphasize that enough. I would be most happy if no one showed up for Easter Morning Mass if it meant that everyone was at the Easter Vigil!! The Vigil celebrates our salvation and redemption in a most beautiful way – beginning with the service of fire in front of Church and entering with our lit candles, to remembering God’s Mighty Works in the scriptures, to Baptism of new members, it’s a glorious celebration. If you’ve never attended an Easter Vigil (wouldn’t that be a shame), I urge you to set that time aside this year and join with your brothers and sisters as we celebrate the Lord’s resurrection.”...Fr. Dave

Three-In-One Collection - Thank you for your generous support of this collection!  Through your generosity exploited children will be helped, families will be reunited, & many will have vital humanitarian needs met.  Visit www.usccb.org/nationalcollections to learn how funds are making a difference.

I Will Put My Spirit in You That You May Have Life - God has made us all to share life with Him, and so all humans have rights and responsibilities to the basic goods of the earth.  In Kenya and elsewhere, Operation Rice Bowl helps people receive the basic right of an education.
