“This week is May already. After all the April showers we should have an overabundance of May flowers! I know you have a lot going on in May, and so do we. Next weekend, we have two young ladies who will be making their First Holy Communion at MPH – Alexandra McKague & Elsey Wuelling. Bishop Gaydos will be at MPH on Tuesday evening May 14 for Confirmation. Mother’s Day is May 12, we will remember all our mothers – living and deceased – at our Masses that weekend. On Sunday, May 19, we’ll have a little reception for our three high school graduates to congratulate them and send them on to college. So it is a busy month I know. However, it is also the Month of Our Lady! We should find special ways to honor our Blessed Mother this month. Here in central Missouri we have a unique tradition and opportunity to Honor our Lady – the May Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Sorrows in Starkenburg on May 19. If you didn’t find or take time in Lent, or anytime lately, to have a day of prayer, or recollection, or to do something to honor your Heavenly Mother, please consider joining with others from around the diocese in this pilgrimage.”...Fr. Dave

A Big and Special Thank You to the fundraising committee and all who helped in any way at Assumption parish for the huge success of our Rummage Sale and Bake Sale.  Also to anyone who donated items, clothes, and baked goods.  Especially to those who spent many long hours of preparation and cleaning up afterwards.  Your time, hard work, and dedication to our parish is deeply appreciated.  May God grant special blessings on each and every one of you.  The results were a profit of $1,425.10 for the Rummage and Bake Sale together.  The Schwan’s sales commission was approximately $125.00 additional for a total of $1,550.10.

Catholic Home Missions Appeal – Many dioceses right here in the U.S. do not have enough priests and trained lay ministers to serve their parishes.  These dioceses are known as “home missions.”  The Catholic Home Missions Appeal supports these dioceses by funding essential ministries, including seminary education and lay ministry training.  Please be generous and help strengthen the Church at home.  If you forgot your donation, please drop it in the collection basket next weekend.
