My dear brothers and sisters in the Lord,

Alleluia! On this Easter 2010, our voices join with the countless voices of the Church throughout the millennia, "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!" The whole Church rejoices on this "Feast of Feasts" that the victory has been won. Christ Our Life has triumphed over
sin and death, and now offers this gift of new life to all His faithful people.

As the clergy and faithful of the Diocese of Jefferson City, we rejoice all the more, as we welcome the hundreds of catechumens and candidates into the Church this Easter. Mindful that it is the Lord that has mysteriously drawn us into the great spiritual family of the Church, may this year's Easter celebration inspire us to draw even closer to Him in His Sacraments.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, your families and your loved ones. May the Risen Lord enlighten your minds and hearts that we may always know Him in the breaking of bread, and follow Him into eternal glory.

Sincerely yours in Christ...
Most Reverend John R. Gaydos, Bishop of Jefferson City
