Text Box: “I spoke of the coming ‘Great Feasts of the Lord’ last week – today’s Feast of Pentecost, the Feast of the Holy Trinity next week, and then the Body and Blood of Christ, also known by its Latin title Corpus Christi. This is a feast of the Lord set aside to honor him present in his body and blood – the Blessed Sacrament on the altar. We believe and profess that Christ is truly present under the sacramental signs of bread and wine, which become His Body and Blood at Mass. As such, we have always treated the Blessed Sacrament with the utmost respect. We genuflect before Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament; we adore Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. And so it’s most appropriate, and an ancient tradition, to give public witness to our belief with a Eucharistic procession on this feast day. It is also a way for Christ to bless us, our towns, and farms. Please plan on joining us on either June 5th or 6th right after Mass for a short Eucharistic procession and blessing of our towns.
“We have set the dates for Camp Hope this year for June 14 – 18. This is open to all children of our communities – kids, grandkids, neighbors, visitors. Children from the other churches in town will be invited. So please spread the word and mark those dates. We welcome children entering kindergarten next year through sixth grade to participate, older children to help, and parents to also volunteer.
“We have Father’s Day cards available in the back of church, and will be offering Mass on Father’s Day (June 20) for your fathers, like we did for Mother’s Day, if you would like.
“Our condolences to John Gerritsen’s family and friends on the death of Gladys. She will be missed. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord.”...Fr. Dave
