“I want to thank everyone for the celebrations last weekend in honor of the 30th anniversary of my ordination. I am honored to serve you and deeply humbled by the appreciation I receive. Thanks to all who prepared the ‘surprises’, and for all the cards and gifts. I pray for many more years here.
“We remember and honor all our service men and women this Memorial Day. We are grateful for their service to our country and the cause of freedom. We pray for their safety, a quick return to their families, and for peace in our world.
“As we all (particularly our farmers) are suffering from this spring of floods and tornados, we particularly pray for the people of Joplin who have lost their homes and lives. There will be a special collection next weekend to be forwarded to the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau for helping their rebuilding efforts.”...Fr. Dave

Joplin Disaster - Most of us are aware of the devastation in Joplin caused by last Sunday's tornado. Bishop James Johnston Jr., of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau, said that St. Mary's Church and School in Joplin suffered a total loss, while the Catholic hospital, St. John's Mercy Hospital, sustained major damage. Next weekend, June 4-5, our Diocese will have a special collection to help the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau address the needs of the Joplin community. Please inform your fellow parishioners who may not be around this weekend, of this special collection next week. Make checks payable to your local church and put “Joplin Relief” on memo line.  Thank you for your support.

Most Pure Heart of Mary - Thank You for recognizing Ethan for his graduation.  The special blessings were truly appreciated.  Thank you also for the pen and bookmark.  I’m hoping he’ll read the saying everytime he uses it.”...Sincerely, The Hagenhoffs

Stewardship Quote - In today's Gospel we go back in time to listen to Jesus as he gives instructions at the Last Supper. His words speak to all of us as he is preparing us to be sent out into the world to proclaim his Good News. The gift of the Holy Spirit is poured out upon the entire community of faith to do this work, not just a few. No one is to be excluded. Are we inclusive of everyone in our community? Are there those we choose to exclude because we don't like them?
