“I thought we had a wonderful week of Camp Hope. 17 kids participated, plus 4 older helpers. I had great fun. Hope you all learned a lot. Thanks especially to all the volunteers who helped out, especially Doris Rost and Jamie Koenigsfeld, Mary Jane Starke and all the kitchen help, and all the many drivers and other helpers who pitched in when needed. As always, I’m amazed and thankful for how things get done around here when needed. There was plenty of help for Camp Hope and then for the funeral luncheon when that came up and we had to adapt a little, everyone just pitched in and got it done. Thanks.
“A most happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. I hope that God blesses you and your family and children will treat you royally today and always. Dads are often forgotten in today’s world, yet so important. We appreciate all the fathers and what they do for families.”...Fr. Dave

Text Box: Assumption and Most Pure Heart of Mary Parishioners: The lovely Ladies of Lyric who call themselves "Joyful Noise" are coming back to sing for us at the Heart of Mary Funfest on June 30 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary's hall.  It has been a year since they were here and all are invited to join in the "Joyful Noise" experience and share dessert.

Samaritan Center Collection - Next Sunday (June 27) at St. Mary’s we will take up our bi-monthly collection for the Samaritan Center.  For the past several years, St. Mary’s has donated a basket of specific items for the Samaritan Center’s annual auction.  This year’s basket is a “gardening” basket.  Your contributions to next Sunday’s Samaritan Center collection will be designated to pay for items for this gardening basket, which will be auctioned at the Samaritan Center’s annual auction on July 15.

Proposed Federal Legislation Threatens Freedom of Speech - Action requested again by National Right to Life and Missouri Right to Life:  Contact Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer (202-225-2956, http://luetkemeyer.house.gov) and urge him to oppose H.R. 5175, the “Disclose Act.”  Tell him that you are strongly opposed to incumbent politicians trying to restrict the free speech of private organizations about the actions of politicians and that you have a right to support these organizations, and they have a right to speak freely under the First Amendment.  Also state that there is very little in this bill that is intended to provide useful or important information to the public. Rather, the intent is to discourage private groups from providing information to the public about the actions of Congress.

Free Home Study Courses on the Catholic Faith - You are invited to study the Catholic Faith by taking free correspondence courses at home. For information about the nine courses available, go to the Catholic Home Study Service website (www.amm.org/chss.htm). Or you may write to this address: Catholic Home Study Service, P. O.
