Text Box: “I think we can safely say that summer is here. I hope it will be a happy and joyous time for everyone as you enjoy the sunshine, work on your farms or gardens, or go on a vacation or travel. I know with all that it can be a busy time, with much to do, and maybe you find yourself with less time for church or far from your church. Certainly travel and vacations are good and worthy, but still one should not forget about our need for God. Traveling can give one the opportunity to visit another parish, or see a different part of the church. Mass times for every parish in the state were listed in a recent Catholic Missourian, and times for any parish in the country can be found on many websites. Still, if one finds themselves far from a church on a Sunday morning, they would be excused from Mass, but you should find some way to ‘keep holy’ that Lord’s Day all the same. One should certainly remember the basics: pray every day, talk to God, give thanks for all the blessings you have received, and seek to do good and love one’s neighbor. We can never take a vacation from God, or His commandments.
Also, if far from your parish, remember we still have ongoing needs and your parish family also depends on you for its support. Please continue to use your envelopes and make up for any missed weeks. We really appreciate and depend on your constant support. Also in your June packet of envelopes is an envelope for the Catholic Missourian subscription. If you are a member of the parish, we are required by diocesan policy to provide for your subscription from parish funds. So if you can include the $13 for your subscription, that would be a great help. The Catholic Missourian is really a great bargain for that price. It’s an important communication and educational tool. It’s so necessary for every Catholic family.
Assumption Finance Committee thought it would be okay to close our PO Box in Morrison. Very little mail comes through there, and we have the office mailing address in Chamois. Please let me know right away if you have a different opinion.
“Have a happy summer and stay away from railroad crossings.”...Fr. Dave

Text Box: Assumption and Most Pure Heart of Mary Parishioners: The lovely Ladies of Lyric who call themselves "Joyful Noise" are coming back to sing for us at the Heart of Mary Funfest on June 30 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary's hall.  It has been a year since they were here and all are invited to join in the "Joyful Noise" experience and share dessert.

We want to thank Fr. Dave and all the parishioners of both parishes for your prayers, love, and support during the sudden death of Chick.  We will always remember your kind words of sympathy.”...The Keilholz Family
