Text Box: “We had our Picnic planning meeting this week, and people are excited and ready to go to make this year’s picnic a great success. I had overlooked the announcement that people could donate raffle prizes by today, but we really NEED prizes! Can you donate a nice item or service? We want prizes that will make you excited to tell your friends, ‘Look what you can win!’ as you sell the tickets. So the deadline is extended a week. Please, we need your donation or perhaps find a business that might donate a prize. We MUST know by next week, so that the tickets can be printed listing all the prizes and donors, and we can get the tickets to you by the beginning of July. Let’s all help to make this year’s picnic the best ever.
Remember to let us know if any kids are coming to Camp Hope. We need to know by Monday (June 7), call and let us know, the papers can be sent later! Camp Hope begins next Monday, June 14, at 8:45 a.m.! If you have time to volunteer, please let us know that also.
Remember Father’s Day is June 20. You can have your father remembered in our Masses on Saturday and Sunday. Drop an envelope with an offering in the collection basket. Cards are also available in the back of church, if you want one to send to your dad.”...Fr. Dave

Picnic Raffle Donations - If you would like to make a donation to the picnic raffle, please contact Rob Schollmeyer 763-5409 by June 13.

Proposed Federal Legislation Threatens Freedom of Speech - While the "Disclose Act" (H.R. 5175) legislation purports to require the disclosure of important info to the public, according to National Right to Life, it will:  ". . . discourage, as much as possible, disfavored groups (such as NRLC) from communicating about officeholders, by exposing citizens who support such efforts to harassment and intimidation, and by smothering organizations in layer on layer of record keeping and reporting requirements, all backed by the threat of civil and criminal sanctions."  Action requested by National Right to Life and Missouri Right to Life:  Contact Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer (202-225-2956, 1118 Longworth HOB, Washington, DC 20515, http://luetkemeyer.house.gov) and urge him to oppose H.R. 5175.
