“A special thanks to Assumption parish for the nice reception last Saturday evening and all the great treats. Thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary for the birthday present, and to all who so warmly and sincerely welcomed me back after my sabbatical. I truly appreciate everything, and am truly grateful to be back. So let us continue moving forward in everything we do.
“Finance committees from both parishes have been hard at work, along with Evelyn who is indispensable in everything, to prepare the financial reports due to the diocese next month and to prepare a budget for the coming fiscal year. The good news is that both parishes operated last year with money left over, and looking ahead, barring any great unexpected expense (and both parishes have savings), we don’t see any problems, and will easily meet our expenses if the collections stay at least at the same level of giving as last year. So we are truly grateful to all who increased their giving last year in response to the Proclaim Program, but we will not need to ask for any additional increase this year. As always, we are extremely grateful and humbled by your constant support and gifts to your parish. May God Bless you.”…Fr. Dave
First Friday (this week) Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus consists of attending Mass and receiving Holy Communion on nine consecutive First Fridays. Some of the Twelve Promises made by the Lord to St. Margaret Mary for those devoted to His Sacred Heart are: I will give them all the graces necessary for their state in life & I will establish peace in their families.
