“Our summertime marches on, but thankfully not as hot. Students are especially mourning, I’m sure, at the approach of the start of school, while parents rejoice. We still are in summer mode, but have an important fundraising event coming up on Saturday, August 20. We will be having a porkburger sale at the Thriftway lot in Linn, with money dedicated to the Cemetery Fund. We pay close to $2000 each year just to keep the cemetery mowed. Last year’s sale helped us to pay this bill. There will be an organizing meeting this Wednesday evening at the rectory at 7pm. Please come, or at least let me know you can work a shift on the 20th. The Western Catholic Union could help again with a matching grant, but we need to know how many members we have. So if you are a member of Western Catholic Union, please let me know.”…Fr. Dave
