From the Pastor:

Next week is the last session of the Good Leaders, Good Shepherds program that I have been attending for the last two years. So I’ll be gone all week at that. Then I’ll be taking a little vacation time. Fr. Roberto Ike will be with you next weekend. Please make him welcome and take care of him.
I’m sad to say that the statue of Mary from in front of church was vandalized. A police report has been filed and investigation initiated. If you have any information about it, please come forward.

Give to Those Who Have Given a Lifetime – Senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests worked for many years for little, if any, pay.  Their sacrifices now leave their religious communities without adequate savings for retirement.  Your gift to this weekend’s special collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious helps to provide prescription medications, nursing care, and more for thousands of elderly religious.  Please be generous.   If you forgot your envelope this weekend, just drop in the collection basket next weekend.

Chamois Day will be here before we know it (Sept. 15).  The committee has asked our church to again sell pie & coffee for our missions and also to sponsor the quilt show in our hall.  If you could bring a pie and/or quilt(s), please sign up on the poster in back of church.  (Bring pie to hall before 10:00 a.m. on Sept. 15).

Tour Day – Tuesday, Sept. 11.  Leave 9:45 a.m. from Assumption Church lot, return 4:00 p.m.  Tour Sasafras Valley Form in Morrison, Rockin’ W Alpaco Ranch and Swiss Meat & Sausage Co.  Lunch $7/person all-inclusive lunch menu (pot roast w/trimmings) at Lost Valley Lake Resort.  $5 for transportation.  Sponsored by MWA Senior Chapter.  Call Marlo Bocking 294-6613 by Sept. 4 if wanting to attend.

Dinner/Family Life Program – Friday Sept. 7, at Lyndee’s Restaurant (Hermann) at 6:00 p.m.  MWA pays $3/person toward meal.  Program on hand-only CPR by Saundra Hartge.  Sponsored by MWA.  For info, contact Lorna Rost 294-7276.
