Text Box: “Well, I hope I got in very early on Friday morning as planned after an all-night flight from Anchorage, so I’m sure I’m suffering from jet lag. If my homily showed it, please forgive me. So now I’m back and ready to get back into my second year (can you believe it!) with all of you. The first year went really fast. I hope I’ve used it well to get to know you and our communities and that we can continue to grow and increase in God’s grace in our lives. We will, of course, be continuing much as we have been, but I am excited about a couple of projects that, admittedly, I have pushed for, so being my ideas I have great hopes for them. The first is the new Handbell Choir. We’ll be having a meeting real soon for any interested ringers and others who want to participate in this fun musical group. Again, I am very grateful for all the support we’ve received from those who have purchased handbells for us in memory of your loved ones. The bells are supposed to ship the week of Sept. 24. We’ll have a memorial Mass for all those in whose memory they were purchased and then get down to playing them.
“The second new project will be That Man is You! - a leadership program for Catholic men. I hope many have already made use of the internet and registered online for our program here. You can find out more about the program and even register at their website – www.thatmanisyou.org; I encourage all our men to do so. More information will also be presented to the parishes in the coming weeks. We will be beginning on September 18 with breakfast at 5:45 am!! (look at the sacrifice I’m making being willing to get up so early and fix breakfast for all our men!) We’ll then have a video presentation and group discussion. We promise to finish by 7:25, to let everyone get to work and fields (and I can take a nap). A leaders meeting will be this Tuesday evening, August 24, at 8 pm in the rectory....Fr. Dave
