Text Box: “I remind everyone that Tuesday is an Election Day. We were reminded by the Supreme Court that our decisions have consequences and if we want to change policy we need to elect people who will truly represent our values. I urge you to vote on Tuesday. The Bishops urge a yes vote on the important Constitutional Amendment No. 2.
“(I know it’s out of character for me, but…) It was sooo hot in Missouri this week that a neighbor of ours lost his two mules. Our neighbor, "Red", always plants five acres of popcorn and does all the work with his two mules Pet & Pearl. Now anybody that knows anything about Missouri Mules knows that they're dumber than a day-old duck. Well, this past week he was gathering the popcorn with the mules pulling a smallish trailer. With temps approaching the 108 mark he decided to quit for a lunch break. He unhitched the two mules and placed them in the barn for oats & water and a much deserved rest. Well, "Red" went into the house for lunch. He always stores last year’s crop of popcorn in the loft of the barn in 5 gallon lardcans with lids to complete the drying process. was sooo hot in that loft that the popcorn started popping, pushing the lids off, and popped corn spilled onto the floor of the loft. The popcorn started sifting thru the cracks in the loft floor down onto the mules below. They thought it was snowing and froze-to-death.”...Fr. Dave

Remember to vote on Tuesday, August 7!!
