Text Box: “I look forward to welcoming all our men to our men’s program next Saturday morning. I think it will be a great help to all of us who are striving to live our Catholic faith as men. Why not do a little extra for yourself and your faith. What could it hurt? It could even be a great help.
“We are expecting our new handbells by the end of the month, so I think it’s time to begin gathering those interested in participating, and begin our training and planning. And to see if we indeed have the ringers (as so many have worried about). But plan two was always to make it an ecumenical choir if need be, so if you know of anyone from any of the other churches who would really be interested, please invite them.  So I am inviting all who would like to participate in any fashion (see the description on the back side of the insert page) to meet on Thursday evening at 7 pm in the rectory.
“With the anniversary this weekend of the tragic terrorist attack of 9-ll-01, and all the controversy that has been in the news of late, I would like to add my own reflection. Of course we as Americans want to radically and unconditionally uphold our freedom of religion. For us that means that all are free to practice any religion that they want, even when we know that other religions don’t contain the fullness of Truth, as does our Catholic Faith. But allowing others freedom of religion doesn’t mean that we must forget about the Truth, or abandon our right to practice our Faith and proclaim the Truth, even loudly and in the public square. I think that these times call for radically committed Catholics who are not afraid of proclaiming the Truth In Love, as our Holy Father has said. We must not be so afraid of offending another’s beliefs, that we are afraid of proclaiming the truth that will set them free and lead to eternal life. We believe in freedom of religion, but we do not believe that all religions are equal or can lead to salvation. Christ left us one path, His Holy Church, as the way and means to Eternal Life. Now is the time for us as Catholics to really take our faith seriously, stand up and be counted, and really be willing to witness to the Truth in Love.”...Fr. Dave
