Text Box: “I enjoyed Chamois Day last Saturday. I appreciate all who helped clean up and got things ready, and especially those who helped put things back in order afterwards. Thanks to all who brought pies for the mission sale, we sold them all out. A special thanks to Hank Rost who donated one of his handmade oak paper-towel holders to St. Mary’s Sacristy.
“Continuing our organizational efforts, for those committees that don’t have a set meeting time, I’ll be contacting someone on each committee to call everyone for the first meeting. When that meeting happens, the committee itself can choose how they want to continue to organize themselves. There’s still time to volunteer for any of the committees. Check the web-site for membership info.
“The Osage County Historical Society will be having a ground-breaking for a new Cultural Heritage Center – Monday evening at 6 pm, behind the Zewicki House in Linn. This will be a place to store and exhibit all the historical documents of the Society. I am happy to support the historical society, not only for their family genealogical material and county historical records, but they have a wealth of info on the Catholic Churches of Osage County. (I think they have more about us than we do.) All are invited.”...Fr. Dave

Stewardship Quote - Saint Augustine, a doctor of the church, once wrote that the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd most important attitude in Christianity is humility. In today's 2nd reading, Saint Paul is concerned with how we conduct ourselves in our community of faith. He urges us to let our conduct be worthy of the Gospel we say that we believe; and that it all begins with humility. He asks us to consider others better than ourselves, and to serve them by looking out for their best interest, not ours. Consider how Saint Paul's appeal to imitating Christ's humility can enhance your relationships.
