Text Box: “Well, it’s been a busy week, and we seem to be getting back into our normal swing of things. Saturday morning we began our men’s group with 10 men participating. We hope they will all return and bring a friend this week. All our men are still welcome to join us on Saturday morning. If anyone would like to donate some potatoes, or eggs, or sausage from your farm, drop them at the rectory. Or maybe you’d like to be a guest breakfast chef, and fix breakfast once for us.
“Chamois Day was also last Saturday and our benefit pie sale for the Peruvian missions was a great success ($385 in proceeds). Thanks to all who donated pies, or who worked, or cleaned up the hall and grounds.
“Wednesday we began PSR for our children. We are extremely grateful for those who have volunteered to act as catechists again this year. They perform a great task in helping pass on the faith to our children. Parents particularly should be grateful for their efforts and be willing to pitch in and help also. Please have your children on time, and picked up on time. Let us know if they will miss a class. You can help substitute if needed, clean up the hall or classrooms (a special thanks to Larry and Vivian Boss who cleaned and got all the classrooms ready this week to begin). How about bringing snacks when needed. And of course support our program with your and your childrens’ presence at Sunday Mass and the other PSR activities (Pro-Life Rosary Oct. 6!). We’ll have a parents’ meeting this Wednesday. It’ll just be a short meeting, so let’s gather at 7:45 – just a little earlier for picking up your kids anyway. See you on Wednesday.”...Fr. Dave

"If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead." (Luke 16:19-31) Those words of Jesus at the end of the story about the rich man who had more than he needed and Lazarus the beggar seem rather harsh. There is no gentle way to say that when we are dead it will be too late to do the good we should have done when we were alive. Pick up the Bible! Read it! You will learn what Jesus promised and that He rose from the dead. Get busy imitating Jesus by loving God and your neighbor as yourself.

The best place to discern a vocation to the priesthood is at the seminary. Check out and consider the possibilities.
